'In' for the summer

Well they can't say they didn't walk right into this one.

The Rules of Summer 2007
we love the new breed of fash-referencing one-liners which make us look pretty and make others smile.

As you know, we always take our fashion tips straight from OWM. So it gives us great pleasure to present the official Observer Woman Make Me Spit fash-referencing, witty one-liner slogan T-shirt, guaranteed to make you look pretty and make others smile.

They come in two designs... there's the rather rude sounding Pink Lady Ring Fit shirt:

or if pink lady rings don't do it for you for whatever reason, the slightly more demure Unisex Version:

Both are available from the nice people at Vibe2k, on this page here. We are not taking a cut, so you'll pay the same price as we just did. Although if you're the kind of OWM reader who can't enjoy wearing a T-shirt unless it costs £150, do feel free to send us a cheque for the other £138.50 and you can walk the streets of Primrose Hill with your nose held high.

The OWMMS branded jelly sandals and parasols will be here shortly.

If you buy one, do please send us a photo of yourself wearing it. Or hell, send us a picture of yourself not wearing it. This is the internet after all.

UPDATE: After a flash of inspiration from PearlProtein in the comments box, can we also ask you for suggestions for suitable slogans for future T-shirts? To get you started, PP suggested:

LIZ JONES WOULDN'T WEAR THIS

There have to be plenty other possibilities.

  3. It's a lovely idea, but a shame that the pink one only goes up to a 14...

  4. eeek. Does it really Clair?

Dolly just ordered a large one, so we'll let you know what the results are like!

  5. Just looked, and according to their chart, Size L is Size 14...

but if you click the drop down menu on the pink shirt, it's offering up to XXL.

So I think our consciences are clear.

  6. any chance of doing the unisex style in the pink color? "girlie cut" t-shirts don't fit me because they're too short in the torso, and no one needs to see my muffin top overflowing my jeans. :-)

  7. CB, Clair and everyone...

Vibe2k will print off a t-shirt in any combination they can.

They can do a pink unisex shirt, although it's a slightly more pastelly, salmon pink. They can't do the inked in lettering on it though for some reason, so it is some kind of ironed on lettering they use instead. That's why we opted against it, but feel free!

But contact the company, they are very 'real people' and will answer any queries. We'll let them know that we're happy for any customer to use the design on any shape.

Hope you get what you want.

  10. How about. "I'm Polly Vernon. Punch Me."

  11. My tits are just too huge to be anything approaching decent in a T-shirt but LOVE the sentiment. Also ADORE the idea of Liz Jones wouldn't wear this....
Put it on a handbag and i'll buy one.

  12. Bit late to the party, but have thought of a few slogans:

How about one that just says "WOOBS" over the, um, woman-boobs? Blog URL on the back, of course, in case anyone thinks you're endorsing their insanity.

Or (my personal favourite) "Observer Woman Magazine… We know it's common, but we loathe it".

Or, to quote from Dolly's brilliant rant, "Observer Woman is Self-Loathing Woman".

  13. I like this because there are things for everybody, for example I'm a woman who likes to wear t-shirts and I could see prices are perfect for me.
